I DO NOT NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT

Some people diagnosed with prediabetes really don't need to lose any further weight and this is a worry for them as cutting carbohydrates and sugar does see the weight drop off.

If you are one of these people do not reduce your portion size.   You do not need to.  However, you still need to bear in mind healthy eating practices, so you can still move over to wholewheat pasta, wholemeal bread, brown rice and reduce your sugar intake, but you won't need to reduce portion sizes.

Try to focus also on having adequate protein and healthy fats to keep your weight on.  Protein snacks throughout the day will help too.

Foods with healthy fats are fish such as - salmon, mackerel, sardines - olive, vegetable and rapeseed oils, avocado, seeds and unsalted nuts.

Full fat dairy will also help although beware that dairy items aren't always good fats ie butter for one.

Lastly, make sure your plate is still balanced with 1/2 vegetables or salad, 1/4 carbohydrates and 1/4 protein the same as those that do need to lose weight, it is just you won't reduce portion sizes like they will.
